Relay for AI assistants
Ask your assistant what Relay knows.
Connect ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant to Relay and ask "what's the latest?", "what changed with the Alberta vote?" or "what did the jobs report show?" where you already are. Every answer comes with links to the Relay page and the original reporting.
Connect it
Add Relay as a custom connector (MCP server) with this address. No sign-in is needed.
https://247relaynews.com/mcp
- Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste the address.
- ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors (developer mode) → Create → paste the address.
- Other assistants: any client that supports MCP over HTTP. Plain JSON is also available at
/api/agent.
What it can do
- latest_newscast: the latest newscast, when it aired, a link to listen, and its stories.
- search_stories: developing stories by topic, place or name, with how many newsrooms report them.
- get_story: a story's latest reports, corrections, and a link to ask Relay follow-up questions.
- outcome_desk: questions Relay asked before official U.S. data came out, and the results.
What it shares, and what it doesn't
Assistants get Relay's own headlines and story pages, and the headlines and links of the news organizations we credit, so you can read their reporting. Their articles are not passed on. Full text is included only for U.S. government sources, which are public domain. Read-only, no account, and limited to a few hundred requests an hour per address.
